My story is about total deliverance. To make a long story short, my Christian boyfriend and I became sexually active in college. I was a very new Christian when I found out I was pregnant. I was overwhelmed and marriage wasn’t going to happen, so when I was 3 months pregnant I had an abortion. I was 19 years old and had minimal coping skills needed to deal with the after-effects of having an abortion. It truly took years to recover from it emotionally.
I was the only girl of 5 children. My parents never had “the talk” with me. Later when I learned that my oldest brother was conceived out of wedlock, I wondered if “the talk” never took place due to hypocrisy. Since my parents didn’t know the Lord, they had never experienced total forgiveness from the Lord.
I’ve rejoiced often when I have read in scripture special versus that helped me with recovery. The one that has helped the most is Psalm 103:12 which says, “As far as the East is from the West, so far has He removed our transgressions from us”. Keep in mind that the East and the West never meet!
Over the past 35 years Satan has tried to pull me back into shame and quilt. The weapons of warfare that the Lord has given us to defect the enemy (Satan) are so powerful! I have to stand on any and all provisions the Lord has established to keep me free, spiritually and emotionally. Needless to say, I look forward to meeting my child in heaven one fine day.
Over the years God has put me in powerful places to minister to others who have had devastating abortions. He has allowed my experience to be used to help others. Romans 8:28 says, “All things work together for good to them that love God”.
When something very detrimental happens and it happens to you personally, there’s nothing better (next to being saved) than the Lord’s forgiveness. No sin is too great for God to forgive! Amen
Getting Deliverance
Roxanne called about her 16 year old daughter who is pregnant and had an abortion at age 15. Roxanne called for prayer and encouragement, She had not been the spiritual Mom her daughter needed at 15. Roxanne was to busy and did not pay much attention to her. Both Roxanne and her Daughter repented, they rededicated their lives to Jesus and are on their way to total deliverance. This child will have the chance to do God’s will after he or she is born.
